Crispy potato bites recipe

Here’s a simple recipe for Crispy Potato Bites:

Ingredients:

– 2 large potatoes, peeled and grated

– 1 onion, grated

– 1 egg

– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

– Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, combine grated potatoes, onion, egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.

2. Divide the mixture into small portions and shape into bite-sized balls.

3. Roll each ball in panko breadcrumbs to coat.

4. Heat about 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.

5. When oil is hot, add potato bites in batches and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

6. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Optional: You can also bake the potato bites in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

Tips:

– Use high-starch potatoes like Russet or Idaho for the best results.

– Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying, as this can lower the oil temperature and result in greasy potato bites.

– Experiment with different seasonings, like paprika or chili powder, to add extra flavor.
